This delicate rose hair clip is part of the ‘Capulet’ collection. I recently re-watched the 1996 film ‘William Shakespeare’s Romeo + Juliet’ and it was even better than I remembered. The modern 90s aesthetic combines with traditional religious and cultural imagery in an inspiring way. The Capulets wear black with heavily embellished accessories, from hand-crafted belt buckles, shoes and gun holsters to jewelry, which show off a sense of opulence. Meanwhile, the Montagues wear Hawaiian shirts (by Prada), workwear pants and shorts and combat boots, giving them a laid-back and utilitarian vibe. The softness of Juliet’s clothing contrasts with both of these gangs and wraps her in an angelic aura. I loved revisiting this film and creating some pieces inspired by the story!
Fool’s Gold set out to elevate accessible materials into a modern line of products. Meredith draws inspiration from art, music, culture and AI. While ever-evolving with new materials, technology and aesthetic exploration, the designer applies a mix of traditional and modern techniques to industrial materials to create futuristic styles. Each design is meticulously made to order and production time can take up to 5-7 business days.
